What's with you peeps and your... tilesets... ugh...
Try and keep the fortress relatively... safe. For me, I'm not that great with military endeavors.

Just for the record, my fort design looks much better in the classic view. This tileset bullshit makes it look uneven.
Also,
BUILD VERTICALLY, DAMMIT!
This fort does not have the space to expand every room laterally. If you need a storeroom, put it under another stockpile. Same goes for housing complexes (which made me giggle, FYI, considering there's still just the one I made).

Why are you yelling about this in my discussion, I haven't done anything yet.
Tilesets are much easier to differentiate for me, like when I once got half my dorfs killed cos some ice wolves were in the snow, and I couldn't see them cos a white w and a white squiggly line look awful similiar. This was when I first started DF and it stopped me playing. Tilesets looked fairly crap for a while but maydays caught my eye and I love it.
You are like a bunch of old men recanting about the old days and how the kids these days don't know what is good.
YOU YOUNGINS WITH YER TILESETS GRRR *Angry fist shake*

BUT IT JUST LOOKS SO DAMN UGLY. ASCII IS PURE AND CLEAN. TILESETS ARE TAINTED WITH THE WANT FOR BETTER GRAPHICS.

I can imagine you walking down the street with one of those bilboard-costumes but instead of "The End is near" written on it, something like "REVERT TO ASCII"-"THE COMPUTERS WILL TAKE OVER"

What, you just defuse an ambush like that, while when I get an ambush, the fort gets sodomized?

Man, never could figure out the saw-blade traps. I imagine they're just weapon traps with saws in them?

Yeah, they are large serrated discs which is basically what a saw blade is. You can make them at the metalsmith's forge.
This case, only the first 3 are saw blade traps. The other 3 are actually axes from fallen enemies.
They currently only have 1 large serrated disc in each which makes them pretty damn deadly as it is, but I will update them to have 10 at some point.
You can never have enough saw blades.
